Thomson电磁摩擦离合器和电磁制动器能效高、电机和负载操作之间可进行电气切换。 使用滑轮、齿轮或皮带轮，将两个滑轮轴耦合，离合器可将电机连接至负载 上电和断电制动（无论是弹簧组还是永磁体设计）提供了可电气切换停止和/或保持负载的方法。 在现场（电磁）装配为固定且防转动时，转子（弹簧组设计）或电枢（永磁体设计）组件固定在轴上。 对于齿轮离合器、联轴或制动，当线圈通电后，电枢齿面与转子齿面正向挂接，两共线或平行轴之间联轴，从而驱动负载。 无论静态还是低速挂接应用，这都是绝佳的解决方案。
